UNDER WATER - Dive Deep

(PRE)FORMA-SE Artistic Productions presents
a film by Lucas Paz

Drown or Sail?

Did you ever loose someone you love the most? Sii’s son left, drowned at sea not having the chance to say goodbye. Then as a mother would you Drown as well? Or would you choose to Sail?
Sii a single mother of an only child sees herself alone in the World. So much pain and abandonment become routine. The city oppresses her. But winds are going to change. Sii decides to confront her loss, dive into the same waters where he was gone, but coming out the sea, it seems that the World has completely changed.  An open zoo, all the social masks exposed. Sii will embark in a fantastic journey meeting surreal characters, invisible to “everyday eyes”, which will teach her lifetime lessons in a very peculiar way that not even all her experience and maturity would be able to reach for. Sii will now build a path guided by a new way of seeing things, with “Sailing-Eyes”.

"The most important thing Life has ever taught me was to Dive Deep"

Director Lucas Paz believes “Under Water” is a story about loss with a unique perspective, once it jumps from an individual reality to an understanding that the loss process is actually a collective matter.
The movie will be important to comfort and give hope to so many mothers that forever lost such relevant piece of themselves, their kids. “Under Water” speaks to those dear beings, mothers, in order to fulfill them with motivation, by understanding that in this “Ocean” so-called Life, Sailing is Necessary. By learning with the surroundings and with unexpected encounters that life is valuable
and that the memories of those who we love the most are forever. “Under Water” invites the audience to see under the surface, to dive deep.

“The movie also talks about social minorities, once we learn that Sii’s son was blind. We chose four different social minorities represented as fantastic allegories to talk to this convalescent mother under depression. These invisible social figures are the ones responsible to make her see life with new eyes, “Sailing-Eyes” reveals Lucas Paz.

“Lucas is a storyteller that will bring the world a new insight into the human psyche. How being part of the animal kingdom frees us from getting bogged down by our own minds. Let the myths created by the ancients take on a new way of telling stories that started in the mind of a young Brazilian boy who will never loose the wonder of being a child. Love and community is at the center of his incredible movie”.
Pepe Serna from “Scarface” as Lil’ Big Me

"I liked playing Sii, because she goes on a journey of great loss and acceptance. I recently lost someone very close to me and it was all right there on the surface, my emotional connection to loss. I am going through grief. However, I know that one day, like Sii, I will accept my loss, but keep the love. Love doesn't die. It remains with us. We must keep moving forward into a new world with wonderful memories of those who shaped our lives and helped make us who we are."
Arden Kelly from “The Allentown Massacre” as Sii

“ ‘Under Water’ is a project that has soul and it had it since the very beginning because it explores the basic instincts of human beings: survival, loss and love. All human beings have experienced loss every day, in various forms and no one prepares us for that. So for me being a part of this project was like being given a chance to be born again because it allowed me to explore areas of myself that I didn't know could exist inside of me. Being able to empathize with another human gave me the opportunity to walk into other person's shoes and at the end I came to own those shoes. I had the opportunity to transform myself and I'm deeply grateful for that.
Lucas is a wonderful director, visionary and ambitious... He is a real leader. He, as head of this team did a wonderful job putting all the pieces together and keeping the team together and strong. Every day on set the experience was wonderful and just watching the relationships growing stronger and stronger as a family can only be described as magic and it's in great part thanks to Lucas, his wonderful dream and his big heart!”
Paulina Güitrón from “The Adventures of Don Juan and Don Tu” as Trans Me

“Under Water” will also be available with audio-description for blind audiences, the script will be printed in braille and available on American and Brazilian libraries.
If you like plots like “Alice in Wonderland”, “The Wizard of Oz”, “The Little Prince” or directors like Fellini, Lynch, Almodóvar and Jodorowsky this is definitely YOUR MOVIE!
